Staub Inc. is already a successful manufacturer. "We make over 100,000 different parts every week," says founder Tony Staub.

The company has been in the machining business for 39 years and makes parts for industries ranging from medical to industrial at two locations in Hamburg. Its manufacturing area features state of the art machines and robotics. Staub says he pioneered unattended machining back in 1992. "The machine behind us can run all night long making parts, not only makes part, but washes parts, dries parts and puts parts away," he said.

And now Staub is tapping into what Staub calls the hottest topic in manufacturing, 3D printing, which some say is the start of the next industrial revolution. "Everybody needs 3D printed parts," he said. "And if they don't need them they're going to need them."

Two high-end 3D printing machines allow Staub to make parts for final use or to make prototypes for just about any item. For example, 3D printing allows a company to make a prototype of their product say a vacuum cleaner head before they decide on the final design of the expensive, finished product.

"So if we can build a prototype, we can show a customer what his part is going to look like," he said. "It's more likely we have a shot at doing the production."

Right now, most of Staub's customers are in Western New York, but the opportunities are limitless thanks to the new wave of manufacturing that this Hamburg company has adapted to. "It's completely different than what we've been doing for all these years," Staub said.

That makes this innovate company owner proud that he can continue to giveback to 27 loyal employees. "One of the best things about this whole operation is that it feels like I'm supporting all these families," Staub said.
