Attention beer drinkers. Your favorite beer can now "go to your head." That's the way puts it.

Beer Hats is a Western New York company located on Grand Island that got its simple start when owner Cyndy Montana and her husband Pete were at a concert.

They saw someone put a beer case on their head. That would get a laugh out of most people, but these entrepreneurs took the idea a step further by creating a stylish cowboy hat from an old beer case.

11 years later, they are now licensed to make Beer Hats for many different companies. "We have Pabst, Miller, Coors, Molson, the big ones," Cyndy Montana said. "So Anheuser-Busch is the only brewery we haven't gotten licensing with yet. We're trying."

Beer Hats is also expanding into new markets by teaming up with other Made in WNY companies like SB Marketing and Quantum Color Corporation.

SB Marketing creates various designs like one for St. Patrick's Day and Quantum prints the material needed to make unique hats for special events and other custom designs for customers.

"We can create anything they want," she said. "That's through the design of SB Marketing and Quantum. It's helped us grow into an entirely different market than we could go with just Beer Hats."

Now Montana is working on a deal with Nascar to land unique driver designs trackside. They've created a visor they expect to be popular on the golf course this summer.

The company employs eight, though that number will grow over the summer, which is peak season for Beer Hats.
