M&T Bank is planning to close a retail branch in Chautauqua County and transfer customer accounts to a nearby office, a bank spokesperson confirmed this week.
Buffalo's largest deposit-taker (NYSE: MTB) has filed a notice of intention with the New York State Department of Financial Services to shutter the branch at 19. E. Main St. in the hamlet of Frewsburg.
The bank-owned branch is set to close Nov. 8, M&T spokesperson Chet Bridger said. Accounts will move about six miles north to M&T's Falconer office located at 20 E. Main St.
Three employees work at the Frewsburg site and all three will be offered other positions within M&T, Bridger said. M&T plans to list the building for sale, he said.
