M&T Bank has secured a contract with the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority to provide exclusive ATM services to both international airports in Western New York.

The Buffalo bank (NYSE: MTB) made the announcement Wednesday. Six M&T Bank ATMs are now located in the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Two are being placed pre-security on upper and lower floors and four are spread out between the east and west concourses.

A seventh ATM is located at Niagara Fall International Airport in the food court area.

The airports have previously offered ATM services, but the agreement with M&T marks the NFTA's first contract for such services, NFTA spokesperson Doug Hartmayer said.

"It's a customer convenience," Hartmayer said. "It gives customers the ability to get cash on the fly."

M&T has a similar agreement with Baltimore's BWI airport, bank spokesperson Chet Bridger said. It also operates dozens of ATMs at Noco and Sheetz Inc. convenience stores.

"It expands our network for customers who want to withdraw cash or deposit checks," Bridger said.

M&T's contract with the NFTA calls for ATM services to be provided for three years, with two one-year renewal options, Hartmayer said. It will operate the ATM at Niagara Falls for one year on a trial basis and, depending on the number of times the ATM gets used, an additional machine may be added.
