CHEEKTOWAGA, NY (WKBW) - A long vacant Cheektowaga warehouse has been acquired by a local businessman, who plans to use much of the space for his own firm, but may also rent out portions of the building.

Jayesh Patel, who has holdings in the hospitality industry, has purchased the 20,000-square-foot Anderson Road warehouse, paying $330,000, according to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk's Office.

The building had been owned by Veolia ES Industrial Services, whose corporate address is listed as League City, Texas.

Veolia, an international environment industry firm, has been selling off its New York real estate holdings for the past few years. The Cheektowaga warehouse was empty for seven years.

"But it was very well maintained," says Gunner Tronolone, a broker with M.J. Peterson Real Estate's Commercial Division, who handled the sale.

The complex sits on 2.1 acres of land just off of Walden Avenue. It is visible from the New York State Thruway.

Patel plans on housing his own corporate offices in the building and leasing out the remaining portions.
