IBM Deal Down to 6 Sites

We'll soon know where IBM will put its local hub. State and local officials are reviewing six bids that were submitted by area developers, all vying to land one of the most coveted new office tenants in recent years. They tell Business First the process will be completed soon. The IBM hub could employ as many as 500 people. The IBM deal was announced in late February by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who said he hoped IBM would begin its Buffalo operations by November. State officials say they remain on that schedule. Of the six bids submitted, all of them are in the immediate downtown area or the Larkin district.

The Buffalo Bills are going high tech with a video service. The team launched Bills DeskSite, a new HD video product that delivers hours of exclusive Bills content to fans for free. Bills DeskSite works as a DVR for the Internet and a personalized video recorder and content library for Bills HD video. The specialized app IS for laptops, desktops and tablets - instead of smartphones.. to support growing demand for online video.
