NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WKBW) - Work is underway to restore the Hotel Niagara in Niagara Falls, NY. The project has gotten some press lately. Now a report in this week's Business First takes an in-depth look.

Developer Harry Stinson is tackling the $24 million renovation. Some say it is a major piece of rebuilding downtown Niagara Falls.

The Niagara County IDA approved a financial package for the project last week. Officials say the development is a sign of rebirth in the Falls, noting that people want to see a vibrant area. And boarded-up buildings don't send the right message.

Stinson has a strong track record in Toronto. He is planning 160 suites at the Falls site, with rooms ranging from $150 to $250 a night. He even plans a basketball court in the boiler room. The project should be complete in June. You can read more in this week's Business First.

The weekly list in this week's Business First looks at executive salaries across WNY. CEOs top the list with salaries at about $175,000. More than 1,000 WNYers hold those jobs. Advertising managers are second at $133,000.

The list says there are 70 or so in WNY. There are more than 1,700 local financial managers whose average salaries are about $125,000. Natural sciences and public relations managers are next, both topping $120,000.
