Ski season is in full swing in the Southern Tier. And more people are looking to invest in real estate in that area. Holimont Ski Resort is expanding after a recent property auction yielded better-than-expected results. In February, the resort sold 17 of 31 ski-in/ski-out residential lots, raising more than $2.7 million. A report in this week's Business First shows how bidders came from Western New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Canada. Holimont will use the proceeds to build roads and other infastructure for its development.
In downtown Buffalo, work continues on HARBORcenter. The $172 million project officially got underway March 1, less than two weeks after receiving necessary approvals. HARBORcenter's twin rinks are due to open in September 2014. The hotel will open by May 2015.
