BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - McGuire Development is moving forward with redevelopment plans for Sheehan Memorial Hospital. A report in this week's Business First shows how McGuire is working with Dr. Raul Vazquez, who owns Urban Family Practice.

He appears on Eyewitness News with a weekly medical report. McGuire is also teaming with UNYTS, the area's major organ and blood donation organization, on bringing operations to Sheehan.

McGuire will also move its training center for nursing-home workers to the site and will fill remaining space through lease arrangements with other tenants.

Officials tell Business First they want to create an economic engine for the community and having the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus just blocks away will help.

Shoppers will find two new Goodwill stores in WNY in January. It's part of an expansion plan by Goodwill Industries of WNY. A report in this week's Business First says Goodwill is kicking off a drive for 10 new thrift stores over the next five years.

Two Fashion Bug stores will close in North Tonawanda and Batavia. Goodwill is negotiating for those sites.

The stores will carry clothing, shoes, furniture and housewares and refurbished computers through a program with Computers for Children Inc.
