Phase two of The Hatch restaurant renovation is ready to get underway at the Erie Basin Marina. Business First says the first phase of a $1.4 million expansion is nearly complete. Crews are almost finished building an ice cream stand and clam shack. Phase two would add second floor seating to that building. Architects will meet with the Buffalo Planning Board on July 16 to review the proposal. It wouldn't be ready until next summer.
D'youville is hoping to have more parking spaces this fall if a proposal goes through. The college wants to transform a vacant lot -- the site of the former St. Mary's Church at Niagara and Vermont streets -- into a parking lot with 31 spaces. College officials tells Business First that the approximate price tag of the project is $100,000.
In South Buffalo, Pellicano Specialty Foods Inc. has filed a proposal with the Buffalo Planning Board for an 8,000-square-foot addition to its Reading Street plant. The extra square footage is for warehousing and storage. Construction could start later this year. Pellicano makes a variety of pasta sauces and Texas Red Hot sauces, under its own name and private labels for clients.
