AMHERST, NY (WKBW) - Amherst Stainless Fabricating LLC has officially filed paperwork with the Amherst Industrial Development Agency for its planned 14,000-square-foot expansion.

The company, located at 60 John Glenn Drive, is seeking an incentive package from the AIDA to help finance its $1.3 million expansion. The agency's directors are expected to review the project and vote on the incentive package when they meet on Aug. 17.

The Amherst Planning Board is also slated to review the project on Aug. 16.

The expansion is being fueled by a combination of new orders from existing customers and a new pool of clients.

Amherst Stainless Fabricating has 42 employees and expects to add a few more workers once the expansion is completed.

The firm makes a variety of products used in such industries as food and beverage firms, cosmetic manufacturers and those in the biotech fields. Its client list includes Iimak, General Mills, Eastman Kodak, Perry's Ice Cream and Rich Products Corp.

The work is expected to start later this fall.
