BUFFALO, NY (WKBW/BUSINESS FIRST) - The former Fillipo's Restaurant property, a longtime mainstay on Hertel Avenue, has been acquired by the owner of another local restaurant.
Deep Singh, owner of A Taste of India, has purchased the 5,300-square-foot building and adjoining parking lot from Antonietta Gallo. According to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk's office, Singh paid $325,000 for the properties located at 1262-1264 Hertel Ave.
A Taste of India has two locations, one in the Northtown Plaza in Amherst and the other along Elmwood Avenue.
Filippo's closed last year ending a run as one of the city's most popular restaurants.
Len Koch, a broker with Hastings Cohn Real Estate, who handled the deal, said Singh is reviewing his options.
"He could open a third location or move one of the others to Hertel Avenue," Koch said. "Or, he could renovate it and lease it out. Deep is looking at a number of different variables."
