BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Multiple developments are in the works as a spinoff to the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. That's the focus of a report in this week's Business First. The Buffalo Planning Board will meet tomorrow. About $300 million in construction projects are on the agenda.

The board will consider final approval for a new Women & Children's Hospital on the medical campus. Ciminelli is also on the agenda for the new 92-room hotel and a new Kaleida ambulatory care center. Both of those should open by 2015. The report says these projects link downtown's central business district and the medical campus, where there used to be a gap.

This summer has been great ice cream weather. But last year there was a lot more rain, which can be hard on an ice cream company like Perry's in Akron. That's when company officials decided to explore other options and find another avenue for sales.

A report in this week's Business First shows how Perry's is now scooping up pretzels and snacks, along with ice cream. Thanks to a distribution deal with Utz Quality Foods of Pennsylvania. The work has created 30 new jobs at Perry's.
