AMHERST, NY - Iskalo Development bought the Lord Amherst property last year. The hotel has 96 rooms. Developers are also planning to add a new 130-room, national brand-name hotel on site. Business First says now the owner of the Sonoma Grille, Michael Militello, is planning a restaurant upgrade to cater to to both hotels. Militello is looking for a business partner to help with operations and renovations, which are set to get underway in January.

Momentum is building along Buffalo's emerging waterfront. What's next? Waterfront decision makers will answer questions on Friday at the Business First Power Breakfast on waterfront development. Panelists include Congressman Brian Higgins and others who will give an inside perspective. The event is slated Friday, July 27, 2012, 8:00am-10:00am. It will be held outside, under a tent, right on the water. For more info, contact Karen Schiffmacher at 716.541-1631 or go online to There is a link at under News Links.
