ENTERTAINING, HUMOROUS AND HEARTFELT -
ICTC PRESENTS "THE HOSTAGE"
JANUARY 12 THROUGH FEBRUARY 5
BUFFALO, NY – The Irish Classical Theatre Company continues its 2011-2012 Season with The Hostage, Brendan Behan’s entertaining, humorous and heartfelt play with music, Thursday, January 12 through Sunday, February 5. Directed by ICTC Associate Director Greg Natale, The Hostage features a colorful cast of fifteen. Music Direction is by Lori Crawford.
Set in a seedy Dublin house-of-ill-repute, a kidnapped enemy soldier is threatened with death if British authorities carry out the planned execution of an 18 year old member of the IRA. The gaiety and exuberance of the brothel patrons burst through the growing hostilities; and, as the deadly conflict rages, a tender, beautiful love story unfolds between the young captive and an innocent convent girl.
The cast includes Tom Zindle as Pat, Maureen Ann Porter as Meg Dillon, Tom Loughlin as Monsewer, R.J. Voltz as Rio Rita, Greg Howze as Princess Grace, Jim Maloy as Mr. Mulleady, Lisa Ludwig as Miss Gilchrist, Andrea Andolina as Colette, Marie Hasselback Costa as Ropeen, Joshua Radford as Leslie Williams, Bethany Sparacio as Teresa, Christopher Standart as the I.R.A Officer, Aaron Krygier as volunteer Feargus O’Connor and Michael Votta as the Russian sailor. The role of Kate, the musician, will be shared by Mary Ramsey and Inga Yanoski.
Supporting the production are Production Stage Manager Renee Radzavich, Assistant Stage Manager Nicole Drozd, Technical Director and Lighting Designer Brian Cavanagh, Set Designer Ron Schwartz, Sound Designer Tom Makar, Costume Designer Ann Emo and Hair/Make-up Designer Susan Drozd. Choreographer is Samantha Kenney.
