D'Youville College has purchased vacant land on the city's west side for $160,000, according to documents filed this week with the Erie County Clerk's office.

The four-year private school now owns 640 Fourth St., just off Porter Avenue and near Front Park. It bought the land, which measures 134 feet by 233 feet, on Dec. 29.

A D'Youville spokesperson said the college "has no specific plans at the moment" for the property, which he said was the site of a former Ted's Hot Dogs stand. The land-locked college in recent years has made similar purchases near its campus in order to increase its parking facilities for students.
