The clock is ticking for last minute shoppers since Christmas is just a week away. As of mid-month, the National Retail Federation says the average shopper had completed 56.5 percent of their shopping, up ten percent from last year at that time. It's actually the highest in the survey's ten year history!
Clothing tops the list of sales, followed by books, cds, videos games, then toys and gift cards. Consumer electronics rank 5th.
The NRF says most shoppers still plan to buy more so that means a lot of consumers will still be hitting the stores, especially over the long weekend.
30 percent of last minute shoppers plan to finish by December 18. Ten percent will wait until Christmas Eve. Four percent say they'll finish shopping after Christmas.
If you still plan to shop online, STELLAservice is out with a list of the fastest online sites. The firm placed orders from the 25 largest retailers.
