Chef's Restaurant is about to open its much-anticipated take-out window.
The window is slated to open Jan. 31, ending a process that began more than two years ago.
The pick-up window was one of the centerpieces of a nearly $2 million face lift the popular Buffalo restaurant has undergone. The renovations include a new bar, that is expected to be formally dedicated later in February, and a "French Connection Room" for private receptions. The French Connection Room, named after the famed Buffalo Sabres line of Gilbert Perreault, Rene Robert and Rick Martin, is slated for a grand opening in March.
The renovations are the most extensive Chef's has undergone since the 1980s and is expected to add new seating for the 325-person capacity Seneca Street restaurant.
Chef's opened in 1923.
