It's not easy to make the Business First list of Best Places to Work. This year, 77 companies made the cut.

Each one was honored at the tenth annual Business First Best Places to Work celebration, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY. The event was complete with a Sci Fi theme, where employees dressed up as their favorite outer space characters.

Among the winners, West Herr Auto Group came in first for jumbo sized companies, while Daemen College had the highest score among XL companies.
Six categories are based on company size with the number of employees.
Other winners include:
Large: Goldberg Segalla
Medium: Supplemental Health Care
Small: Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo
Micro: Erdman Anthony

The list is based solely on employee surveys conducted by Quatum Market Research.

The benefit of a happy workforce is two-fold. employees are more productive when they feel engaged in their work and that means a better bottom line for the employer.

You can read about each of the winners in Friday's Business First.

Another thing that is "out of this world,"
on Friday, Business First is unveiling a whole new look with a re-design and more. You can see what the future of the newspaper will hold at a special event. It will be held from 7:30 to 9:30am at Helium Comedy Club in the Cobblestone District on Mississippi St. Simply call 541-1638 for more information.
