Buffalo is known for its hot dogs and its loyal customers, but now there is a newcomer into the hot dog market. A report in today's Business First shows how Syracuse-based Hoffman Hot Dogs are making a move into the Buffalo market.

The report says other hot dog companies have tried to break into Buffalo, but had limited success since Buffalo is loyal to age old brands like Sahlen's, Wardynski and Redlinski.

Area food companies say it will be a tough sell. You can read more about the competition in today's Business First.

Business First is out with its Upstate School Rankings for 430 school districts. The rankings are based on data from the New York State Education Department and look at academic performance, district salaries and more. Yesterday, we showed you how Pittsford, outside Rochester, is the top district in all of Upstate NY.

Here is how WNY's top five districts stack up in the Upstate NY school rankings. Williamsville is 4th. Clarence comes in at 8th. East Aurora is number 12. Orchard Park is ranked 20th and Amherst is 24th.
