Are there too many craft breweries popping up in Western New York? That's the focus of a story in today's Business First, called Craft Beer Boom. It shows how the craft beer industry is exploding; and asks is there room for all this growth?
Craft beer brewers say yes, WNYers want more local beer. The brewers have created a community. As breweries sprout up, veteran brewers continue to raise a glass to the newest ones. They say there are enough consumers to drink what they pour, as long as it tastes good.
Recent expansions include: Southern Tier Brewing Co., Inc. in Lakewood completed a $7 million expansion and sells beer in 30 states. Hamburg Brewing Co. is now open. And Tim , with Flying Bison, says "the more, the merrier." He is moving to a new site on Seneca St. Other expansions include: Big Ditch, which plans to open on Ellicott St. and Resurgence Brewery on Niagara St.

The report says Colecraft wants to expand from New England all the way to Florida and beyond.
