Business First's Bizwomen Mentoring Monday will feature some of the most influential women in WNY for one-on-one coaching sessions. 40 area leaders will be on hand to share their expertise, including Colleen DiPirro from the Amherst Chamber of Commerce.

It just so happens she was also my guest for last week's fish fry segment at Creekview Restaurant. DiPirro is the president and CEO of the Amherst Chamber. She joined the organization 33 years ago and knows first hand how careers evolve over the years. "What I do for a living is so much different than what I did a decade ago and what I did 20 years ago," she said.

DiPirro has seen the WNY region evolve along with her role in it. "We'd like to talk about a new convention center and a strategic plan for the hospitality industry," he said. "So every time I think I reached a personal or professional goal or an organizational goal, our world expands and I get new opportunities.

Now DiPirro and 39 other women will offer words of wisdom at next week's event. Other mentors include Nancy Blaschak from the Red Cross, Maureen Hurley from Rich Products, Nancy LaTulip from Lake Shore Savings Bank and many more from various industries.

Bizwomen Mentoring Monday will be held April 7, from 7:30am-9:30am, at the Millennium Hotel on Walden Ave.
