New model for elderly healthcare

Three local healthcare companies are joining forces. The goal is to offer a new model of home-based care for the elderly and those with chronic diseases. A report in this week's Business First shows how Mobile Healthcare Connections was formed by Advantage Home Telehealth, Mobile Primary Care and Vascuscript. The new company sends nurse practitioners and pharmacists into homes.. providing 24-7 care through wireless health monitoring devices. Mobile Healthcare Connections will move to the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus next month.

Concert-goers at Darien Lake will find $2 million worth of improvements this summer. Business First says Live Nation invested $1.4 million to replace a white fabric roof at the concert venue. Fans will also find four new bars and upgrades at the VIP club. The concert season begins June 8.

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra is going on an Upstate NY tour this summer. It's aimed at gaining financial support and expanding the audience base. The BPO will perform July 25 in Saratoga and the next day in Utica. Business First says tickets are going fast.
