Developer Sought for Canalside Parcel

Plans to bring a Marriott to the Donovan Building are kicking off interest in another site near the waterfront. The City of Buffalo is now soliciting bids for the Webster Block. A report in this week's Business First says city officials have no preference for the site, but want developers to think out of the box. The Webster Block is a parking lot right in front of First Niagara Center. RFPs have gone out to local and national development companies and real estate firms. The goal is to have a developer and plan in place by late summer, if not sooner.

More people are looking for the fountain of youth at plastic surgery offices. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons says 13.8 million cosmetic plastic surgery procedures were performed in the U.S. last year, up 5 percent since 2010. Breast augmentation is the top procedure. Cosmetic minimally-invasive procedures are up 6 percent, with more than 12 million procedures in 2011. The top minimally-invasive procedures is Botox.
