Benderson Development Co. has added to its vast real estate portfolio by acquiring a Williamsville shopping center.

Benderson has acquired the 57,000-square-foot Evanstown Plaza, buying it from First Amherst Development Group. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The plaza's tenants include M&T Bank, the BAC for Women and a Rite Aid pharmacy.

Eric Recoon, Benderson vice president of development and leasing, said his company's interest in the plaza, located at the busy corner of Sheridan Drive and Evans Street, was piqued when First Amherst decided to sell the property.

"We like the intersection and look forward to continuing to enhance the property in the future," Recoon said. "It's just a very good piece of real estate."
