Erie 1 BOCES new workforce development facility is under construction on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga. A report in this week's Business First says that means more professional training will be available in WNY.
The facility will allow for a 30 percent increase in the number of adults educated by BOCES each year. Programs range from nursing and medical billing to welding and pipe fitting.
Officials says there's an increased demand for training from both workers and employers. So the goal is to align WNY adults with local employers through degrees and training certificates. Most programs begin after Labor Day. You can read more in this week's Business First.

This week's Business First list takes a look at the largest employers in WNY, ranked by full time equivalent employees. NYS tops the list with more than 15,000 employees.
