Auto dealers rev up sales

New car sales shot up more than 8% in WNY in July, compared to June. The Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association says nearly 4,500 new cars were sold in WNY in July, making it the second strongest month of the year, after March. However, the July numbers were still down from July 2010. Ford tops the list of new car sales. Chevy dealers don't release monthly figures.

Developer Rocco Termini is ready to move forward with two restaurant projects at now-vacant buildings in downtown Buffalo. The Erie County Industrial Development Agency has approved an abatement package. Plans call an upscale Italian restaurant and another new restaurant, both on Ellicott Street.
