Joseph Crowley, founder of Buffalo-based ad agency Crowley Webb and Associates, has died. He was 78.
Crowley, who co-founded the agency in 1986 with John Webb, died on Oct. 14, following a brief illness. Company officials are fond of telling stories of the company's early days when Crowley, who had no office phone, improvised by giving out the number of a public pay phone located nearby on the street.
A spokesperson for the agency confirmed Crowley's death, which was posted at their Facebook page. In the posting, it said:
"While he has been retired for several years, Joe's spirit and legacy are alive and well here at Crowley Webb."
Funeral arrangements are pending.
