Benderson Development Co. has officially purchased the recently closed Alice's Kitchen restaurant in Amherst, adding to its already vast real estate portfolio.

According to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk's office, Benderson, through its Benderson Properties Inc. and RB-3 Associates affiliates, paid $935,000 for the restaurant, located at the corner of Sheridan and Alberta drives. The building had been owned by members of Luppino family, who ran the popular restaurant for many years.

Alice's closed on Jan. 5 and its equipment was auctioned by Cash Auction & Realty on Jan. 9.

Eric Recoon, Benderson senior vice president of leasing, said the company is considering several options for the property.

The deal was jointly brokered by Bob Damian from Pyramid Brokerage Co. of Buffalo and Robert Nuchereno from Arista Development.
