Six-figure salaries have become the norm for 33 different occupations within the Buffalo area.
At the opposite end of the list are 19 occupations that pay less than $20,000 per year.
Business First has collected the latest U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data for 569 occupations in Erie and Niagara counties. All figures are from 2012.
Oral and maxillofacial surgeons earn the highest salaries in the Buffalo area, with average annual pay of $233,300.
They're followed by dentists at $194,370 per year, anesthesiologists at $180,790 and CEOs at $173,870.
The top 33 occupations on the list carry average annual pay above $100,000.
Last place in the rankings is held by ushers, lobby attendants and ticket takers, who earn an average of $17,360 per year in the Buffalo area.
