Buffalo lawmakers are tabling the idea of what amounts to a ticket tax here in the Queen City.
The surcharge would apply to anyone from the suburbs buying tickets for events at the big five Buffalo venues.
Those are Canalside, Coca-Cola Field, The Key Bank Center, Kleinhans or Shea's.
It would be on a sliding scale of 50 cents to $3.50, depending on the cost of the ticket.
The city says the extra money is needed to cover the costs of security training, and police overtime.
Lawmakers say they need more time to review the idea before taking any action.
