Buffalo Police are asking residents to use caution after receiving two reports of sexual assaults.

Police say they are investigating. The two reports happened in the overnight hours between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the first assault happened Tuesday night near the 300 block of Curtiss Street. Detectives tell 7 Eyewitness News that a teenage female was walking home at about 8 p.m., when the suspect approached her and sexually assaulted her.

Police say around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, a woman in her mid-30's was sexually assaulted near the 900 block of Broadway.

Police say it appears the suspect was armed with a knife in both incidents.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, possibly in his mid-20's and wearing all dark clothing.

It is unclear if the two incidents are connected, but police are investigating.

Buffalo police are asking residents to report any suspicious activity.

Detectives are also investigating a sexual assault in the 100 block of Kilhoffer Avenue that occurred earlier this month.
