Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown took questions from reporters Wednesday regarding Sunday's officer-involved shooting that left a Buffalo Police officer injured and the suspect dead.

There is now significant question as to whether or not the officer was shot, according to Erie County District Attorney John Flynn.

Mayor Brown echoes Flynn's statements that officer Acquino "thought he was shot." Mayor Brown says the department had every reason to believe that Acquino was shot, which is why it came out with a statement Sunday and Monday saying the officer had been shot.

The Buffalo Police Department is not retracting any statements made so far in this case. The Mayor says everything is still under investigation.

7 Eyewitness News Reporter Hannah Buehler asked the Mayor if the department maintains Acquino was shot:

"That is all under investigation," Mayor Brown said. "For me to comment on the investigation would be inappropriate to the investigation under the State Attorney General's Office."

We have learned that Buffalo Police do have some surveillance video from the scene in their possession. If you have any video of the incident, you're asked to contact Buffalo Police immediately.
