The Erie County DA announced Friday morning that 21-year-old Maxamillion Hernandez of Buffalo pleaded guilty to vehicular assault 2nd degree and driving while impaired by a drug.

Hernandez was involved in an incident on River Road in Tonawanda in May of 2016. While speeding, he ran a red light and crashed into a cab causing traumatic brain injury to the passenger.

In August of 2016, a West Seneca police officer stopped him after observing Hernandez weaving in and out of traffic on the 400. They found him to be under the influence of marijuana.

He'll face up to 4 years in prison and sentencing is set for October 26 at 9:30 a.m.
