The Erie County Sheriff's Office has arrested 39-year-old Michael Church of Buffalo in connection to an armed robbery of a gas station on Grand Island. Church is a suspect in other armed robberies in Western New York, according to the Sheriff.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Church robbed the store on July 14 and he is facing a felony 1st degree robbery charge as well as misdemeanor menacing and petit larceny charges.

Numerous tips through the Crime Stoppers tip line helped detectives learn the identity of the suspect and his location. While executing a search warrant of Church's home, the Sheriff's Office says it discovered evidence connecting Church to the Grand Island armed robbery.

Church was arrested on July 21. He is currently being held at the Erie County Holding Center on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
