I consider myself perhaps more tolerant then most when it comes to the weather in Western New York.. but really with the rain?? Really??
Now that I have that out of the way.. should be an interesting day here in the Eyewitness Sports Office. I have in my hand the "dial-in" information for tonight's scheduled conference call with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Goodell will be addressing Buffalo Bills season ticket holders tonight at 6:30pm. Members of the media are not allowed to ask questions, but I'm interested to see what he has to say.
We are 60+ days into the NFL lockout, making it the longest work stoppage in league history. Goodell will speak to Bills fans tonight after spending the day with NFL owners and players in the latest round of court ordered mediation. "Talks" are taking place at a federal courthouse in Minneapolis, but little progress is expected.
We will have comments from Goodell at 11pm.
It still amazes me that Ralph Wilson Jr. was one of only two owners who voted against (the vote was 30-2 in favor) the extension of the CBA back in 2006. The same CBA that owners voted to opt out of 2 years later... and here we are.
