(WKBW.com) The start of the NFL's free agency period is six weeks away, but the future of wide receiver Stevie Johnson remains unclear. Johnson's agent CJ Laboy told Eyewitness Sports Director Jeff Russo on Thursday that it's still early.
"Stevie's loyalties to the Bills organization and its fans, and his affinity for the city of Buffalo, has not changed one bit", Laboy said in an email to Eyewitness Sports. "He loves and admires coach Gailey, loves his teammates and coaches, and passionately believes Buffalo is and will be a playoff caliber team. There remains a lot of time to address Stevie's contract situation and I continue to be optimistic that everything will work out", said Laboy.
Johnson and Laboy are in Indianapolis making the media rounds leading up to Super Bowl 46. Johnson, who becomes an unrestricted free agent on March 13th, was asked where he will be playing next season on the ESPN program NFL32. "I don't know", said Johnson. "I'm hoping Buffalo steps up and makes the move and I'll be back there to finish what we started", said Johnson.
