Bicyclist hit and killed in North Tonawanda

A bicyclist was hit and killed Tuesday morning in North Tonawanda.

Police say a 34-year-oldmale cyclist was struck at 8:40 a.m. on Twin Cities Memorial Highway at Schenck Street. Video shows the cyclist trying to cross the southbound lanes moments after the light turned red for east/west bound traffic, according to police.

Investigators say the man was hit by one vehicle and then ran over by another.

Both drivers are cooperating with police. No charges have been filed. Police say there is no alcohol or drug usage suspected by either driver or the bicyclist at this time.
