As we approach tax season, one local law enforcement office says they've received plenty of calls from residents concerned about scams.
The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office says they've received numerous complaints about fraudulent phone scams.
"Phone calls have been received by many of the county's residents on this date by persons claiming to be representatives of the IRS or the US Treasury Office and asking for money," a press release by the office read.
The sheriff's office says residents need to know the IRS does not communicate through phone calls.
