BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) A wintry Wednesday makes for a messy morning commute, closing or delaying some schools in the Southern tier.

Snow has been falling all over Western New York with few plows in sight overnight.

A Winter Storm Warning has been posted for Southern Erie, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus & Allegany Counties Until Midnight.

6-12" of snow possible in those areas.

A Winter Weather Advisory is posted for Northern Erie, Genesee, Niagara & Orleans Counties Until Midnight.

4-8" of snow possible in those areas, with the potential for sleet and freezing rain.
