A different form of gun violence is hitting the streets of Buffalo.

Neighbors on the city’s west side are expressing concerns because they’ve witnessed paintball ‘wars’ and say it’s hard to tell the difference between and paint gun and a real gun.

According to Buffalo Police, drive-by paintball attacks are happening around Buffalo’s west side. The paint is hitting both people and property.

Police say they have arrested four people in connection with three separate incidents.

In one specific case, a 13-year-old girl was shot in the face with a paintball gun near Niagara Street and Connecticut Street.

The general manager of Hillside Buffalo, an adventure park in Holland which offers paintball rentals, says because of the nature of the sport, along with the pain and danger it may cause, it should never be played on the streets of a neighborhood.

Buffalo Police are urging anyone who sees this type of conduct to call and report it immediately.
