BATAVIA, NY (WKBW) - During the summer heat wave, kids at the Batavia Youth Center spend most of their time indoors cooling off in the air conditioning, watching TV and playing video games.
But today, they are twiddling their thumbs instead, because someone broke into the facility over the weekend and made off with two flat screen TV's and a video game system.
"We're really upset that we lost this equipment," said Jen Lichtenthal, a rec leader at the facility.
The children who spend their days at the youth center said they really want their stuff back.
"They're pretty angry they're gone now," said Deborah Kerr-Rosenbeck, the youth center's executive director.
"The Wii game system was something they played quite a bit and when the weather is this hot they want to be inside," she said.
