Batavia, NY (WKBW) - A second yogurt company manufacturing plant is now calling Batavia home. This new facility is one of the largest Greek yogurt plants in the country, and is providing a big opportunity for WNYers to go back to work.

Yogurt is a $6.2 billion a year industry, which is up by 50-percent since 2007.

Capitalizing on recent popularity, Pepsico and European based Muller Group are investing more than $200 million at a 250-thousand square foot Greek Yogurt Plant in Batavia.

Monday, dozens gathered for the grand opening of the Muller Quaker Dairy Yogurt Facility.

The plant has already created more than 180 jobs for local residents.

New York State is already home to 29 yogurt plants, including the Alpina Foods facility, which is also located in Batavia.
