Buffalo, NY –(release) YWCA of WNY reports a robbery of its property at 224 Gipson Street of an entire commercial kitchen.

Thieves ripped off a side door and stole everything from tables, chairs, freezers, sinks, soup stations, and refrigerators.

YWCA and The Despensata Corporation were actively working towards making this property a Community Kitchen to add to the diversity of businesses and activity in the Broadway Market neighborhood. A walk through was planned for this Monday to nail down additional plans and details.

The Despensata Corporation is working towards preserving and developing areas in and around the Historic Polonia District.

The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The YWCA offers housing for seniors and transitional housing for homeless women and children and victims of domestic violence. Day care, UPK and before and after school programming are offered for infants thru school age. Education and job training for teens are also available.
