BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - If you drive on the I-190, you'll now see some new signs on the side of the road.
Today, Governor Cuomo announced the installation of new Doppler-radar-enhanced LED signs alerting drivers who are driving the wrong way.
The signs were installed near the Peace Bridge exit (Exit 9).
The Doppler radar will be used to detect cars driving the wrongs way. When identified, the sign will flash an LED message to alert the driver that they're driving the wrong way and advises them to pull over.
The signs are the first two to be installed along the New York State Thruway.
