BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - A construction worker was sent to the hospital Tuesday morning after being struck by a steel beam at a downtown Buffalo construction site.

An employee of Seneca Steel Erectors, Inc. was unloading material at the future headquarters of Delaware North, which is currently under construction, when he was injured, according to the building's developer.

Uniland Development Company said the employee, whose name was not released, was taken to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. The site, at 250 Delaware Ave., at the corner of W. Chippewa, will be a multi-use building which will also include a hotel.
