BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - It was an intense scene on Buffalo's east side after flames engulfed a Goodyear Avenue home around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Officials on scene say the fire spread quickly and suspect the blaze was set intentionally. The fast moving flames trapped a woman in the rear of the house, forcing firefighters to act quickly to pull her from the home.
Investigators are calling the fire suspicious and suspect a fire bomb is responsible for igniting the blaze. Homicide detectives were called to the same house last Saturday to investigate the death of a 63-year-old woman.
Officials are continuing to investigate the fire, but have not said the two incidents are related.
Eyewitness News is continuing to investigate the story, and we will have much more tonight starting at 5 p.m. and on WKBW.com.
