BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - A Buffalo woman was arrested and charged with DWI - Leandra's Law early Tuesday morning.
Police say at about 1 a.m., Troopers monitoring traffic in a work zone on ST-33 in the City of Buffalo observed a vehicle operating erratically.
Troopers stopped the vehicle and interviewed 39-year-old Kimberly Thomas, who showed signs of possible intoxication. The Trooper observed two children in the vehicle under the age of 16. The Trooper
Thomas failed sobriety tests and was placed under arrest and transported to SP Clarence for processing. She was found with a Blood Alcohol Concentration level of .16%.
Thomas was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated - Leandra’s Law, Endangering the Welfare of a Child,Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, and Moved from Lane Unsafely.
Thomas was issued traffic tickets and appearance tickets to appear in the City of Buffalo court on a later date.
