BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - The bitter cold temperatures causing the frequency of water main break reports to increase.
In the last two days, Erie County Community College and Cloverbank Elementary School were left without running water for the day because of a break in the water main.
Water authority officials say during the months of January and February, and they generally respond to 9 or 10 calls per day.
Water main breaks are not preventable. If you see a water main break to report call 911 or the Erie County Water Authority at (716) 849-8484.
