Williamsville Man Accused Of Making Bombs Inside His Apartment

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY (WKBW) - A scary scene in the suburbs. A man, Duncan Badding, neighbors called "The Unabomber" in jail this morning accused of making all sorts of bombs.

Police say he was firing his gun outside his Williamsville apartment when the arrested him.

Federal agents and police spent much of the overnight, searching the suspects apartment where they allegedly found several bombs, and bomb making materials. One family was evacuated during the ordeal.

Erie County Bomb Squad used a robot to search the home looking for explosives. According to authorties guns and suspected bombs were found inside the apartment.

This all started around 6 P.M. last night here at 66 Willliamsburg Square near South Forest Road in Williamsville. Police were dispatched after the suspect was firing rounds from his gun in the back yard.

When they arrived, Badding allowed them to search his home, where they made quite the discovery.

Neighbors also say they've heard him set off explosives in the past, but it is not clear if they alerted police when that happened.

The agencies involved continue to investigate and are expected to release more information on this developing story later this morning.
